This Saturday, October 20, the Town of Flower Mound will open its brand new, community-built playground, aptly named Fort Wildflower, with a dedication ceremony at 10am. The playground is fitted with new hike and bike trails, a picnic pavilion, a pedestrian bridge, an amphitheater, restrooms and some play features that had been drawn from the bright ideas of local elementary students. After the ribbon cutting, let the kids loose to enjoy Flower Mound’s new digs. The playground is located at Heritage Park, on the northwest corner of Garden Ridge Boulevard and Spinks Road.
Stick around the city for the Pumpkin Dive at the Flower Mound Community Activity Center’s indoor pool from 1–3pm. Bring your swimsuit and a towel, and jump, dive or cannonball into the water for a pumpkin (you don’t have to swim too far; pumpkins float). Then take the pumpkin back to their party room to decorate it with provided supplies. Registration is required, and costs $5 for members and $6 for nonmembers.
