It’s the last weekend for Dallas Children’s Theater’s musical based on the book by Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd, first published in 1947. Bring a new book to donate to a child ages 4 months – 5 years, and you’ll receive a free ticket per family to DCT’s production of The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, which returns from its national tour in June. Tickets start at $14. The books will be donated to the Vickery Meadows Learning Center, which helps to improve English literacy among non-English speaking adults and their children.
Lambarena & Voluntaries
The professional dancers of Texas Ballet Theater will perform Lambarena & Voluntaries this weekend only at Bass Performance Hall. See an eclectic mix of works, including one based on a Greek myth Laila and the Swan, by Glen Tetley, Val Caniparoli and Texas Ballet Theater’s artistic director Ben Stevenson at 2pm and 8pm on Saturday. Tickets start at $20.
Raptors of the Mound
The kids may know “raptor” as short for the dinosaur velociraptor, but modern-day raptors are raptorial birds, or a birds of prey. Eric Neupert, director of the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, will give a presentation about hawks, owls and falcons that are native to the town at Flower Mound Public Library on Saturday. Arrive at 2pm to see some of the birds from the center and learn how to help preserve the birds’ prairie environment. Sponsored by The Flower Mound Foundation and Keep Flower Mound Beautiful.
